Academician Zhang WeiFounder and Chief Scientist of Acelbio Biology
Academician Zhang Wei is an internationally renowned expert in the field of plant cell culture and marine biological product engineering. He is the founder and chief scientist of Acelbio (Chongqing) Biotechnology Co., Ltd., an academician of the Australian Academy of Engineering (ATSE), and the founding director of the Marine Biological Product Development Center at Flinders University, The world's first "integrated metabolic regulation technology for biosynthesis and post biosynthesis" and "low shear bioreactor technology" have ushered in a new era of large-scale cultivation of plant cells and economic production of small molecule drugs and active components of traditional Chinese medicine.

He has won a number of international and domestic science awards, including the excellent award of the Chinese Academy of Sciences Dean's Scholarship, the Japanese Ministry of Education and Culture High tech Research Scholarship, the Australian ARC Fellowship, Wang Kuancheng Research Award, the "Hundred Talents Program" of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Flinders Technologies Research Fellowship. I have worked at the University of Tokyo in Japan, the University of Cambridge in the UK, and Cornell University in the United States. Currently, I am a specially invited part-time professor and doctoral supervisor at Tianjin University, Nankai University, and Xiamen University. Published over 200 papers, applied for over 30 patents, including 4 international patents, and published 8 edited and translated works.

Since 2017, he has been serving as the founding director of the "Sino Australian Characteristic Biological Resource Industry Technology Innovation Joint Laboratory"

Since 2009, he has served as the founding director of the "Marine Biotechnology Product Development Center" at the University of Flinders, Australia, and the chairman of the "Australian New Zealand Marine Biotechnology Society"
In 2008, he was awarded the Australian Outstanding Young Scientist Award (under the age of 40) and the South Australian Prime Minister's Science Research Fund
In 1995, he was promoted to associate researcher and doctoral supervisor of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The main research directions include biopharmaceutical engineering, plant cell biotechnology, marine biological product engineering, and microalgae bioenergy and biorefinery.
